Next Week on MoneyGrabbers

Howdy! If you're following our posts here, you've by now realized that this week wasn't that much productive, so I'll give you a preview of what to expect from next week's update.
Next week we'll be conducting the User Interface and Controls workshop session with our focus group and then writing a rather tedious (but necessary) report on that subject - and let's face it, who loves writing reports?

So don't miss next week's update on MoneyGrabbers!
As was told by my colleague this week was less productive than usual.
Our focus now is to further develop the game as it relates to the interface part and to improve some parts of the controls
This week was kinda slow. Due to the holiday on wednesday we didn't have our usual laboratory class. Besides that we've been planning what to do for our project delivery next week. We will be further developing the prototype on unity to try and cover all the features that we want in the game even if some are not fully implemented.

Hopefully by next week we will have some nice results and photos to share with all of you.
Stay tuned!

Like my colleagues have stated already, this week we conducted our workshops to try and explore ideas for the abilities and end of round systems of our game.

We concluded that in respect to the ability's system, users tend to prefer the presence of randomness, for example, with the skills available changing after each round while still giving the players the option to keep a maximum of 1 or 2 active abilities.

In terms of the end of round scenario where the police men show up to arrest the players, our focus group sugested that a safe drops inside the arena and the ones o are able to break it open get a bonus of coins.

Come back next week for more news on MoneyGrabbers!
So this week we ended the workshops with the people with whom it was possible to gather.
Then we decided between the group what would be the changes we were going to make to our game.
With this we had to change some parts of the conceptual document, mainly where it talks about the acquisition of skills and the end of each round

MoneyGrabbers

Howdy, this week we wrote the report on the second Focus Group workshop, regarding what happens at the end of the round, what can be made to encourage the players to stay longer and risk being arrested by the cops, and how can we implement the ability purchase system.

That's all for this week folks! Stay tuned for more updates on MoneyGrabbers!

Brainstorming Abilities

Hi there, Our Greatest Fan! Today we had a session with one of our Focus Group players, discussing the abilities and how the upgrade system would work, taking suggestions for new abilities, ability selection and ability purchase phases, all outside input coming from the testers. "Exploring, not validating".

"Development Art"

That's all, as always, stay tuned for more news on MoneyGrabbers!

Second Workshop

This week we met with the teacher and asked some questions about what our focus would be on the workshop.
We came to the conclusion that the next workshop to be held would focus on possible abilities and how it would be the end of each of the rounds
So this week was kind of slow. On wednesday we discussed with our laboratory professor about what new ideas of the game we wanted to discuss in the upcoming workshop. With this we decided that the main ideas we want to explore are focused on the aspect of unlocking and upgrading abilities throughout the game and also the end of round scenario where a wave of cops show up and try to capture the players.

See you next week!

This week, as my colleague Diogo has already said, we held workshops to test our low-fidelity prototype.
We try, to the maximum, to hold this workshop with the focus group defined in the document delivered previously.
The game board turned out to be as follows:

Tech Feasibility Prototype

Besides doing a low fidelity paper prototype, this week we also started building a tech feasibility prototype with unity. We focused on being able to use a controller to move the player while also collecting and throwing coins.

Next, we're plannig to start developing the interactions with other players, like melee attacks and the drop coin mecanic when someone gets hit.

Stay tuned for more updates!

User Testing

Hi there, I see you've been checking out our blog recently. As our biggest fan you should know that this week we've been testing our low-fidelity prototype looking for some feedback and ideas.
